We are pleased to welcome Bharat Ko Janiye as a Community Partner of Melbourne Diwali 2026.

Bharat Ko Janiye means "Know India". It is a free quiz about India's history, culture and geography, brought to Melbourne by CAMP Epic Global.

A question at the dinner table

Every family has one. The aunty who knows every state capital. The grandfather who can name the river that runs through any city you mention. And the children, growing up in Melbourne, who know India through holidays, food, films and the stories told at the dinner table.

The Bharat Ko Janiye quiz is a fun way to find out how much you know, and to learn what you do not. You do not need Indian heritage to play. Curiosity is enough.

How it works

Find the Bharat Ko Janiye stall at Marvel Stadium Square. Then:

  1. Scan the QR code with your phone
  2. Register
  3. Answer 10 questions about India

Depending on your score, you could take home an instant giveaway: a stole, a pouch or a quiz postcard. Nothing is sold at the stall. It is free to play.

Want to practise first? You can play online any time at bkjquiz.com.

The big prize: a journey to India

The quiz runs all year. The top players of the year win a fully paid 10-day trip to India, the Bharat Ko Janiye Yatra, to experience its culture, heritage and diversity first-hand.

Up to 40 winners are chosen for each Yatra, aged 18 to 50, from three groups: Indian citizens living overseas, people of Indian origin, and people with no Indian heritage at all.

The quiz has run for five editions. The organisers say the 2024 edition drew more than 108,000 participants from 203 countries and territories. On 31 October, Melbourne joins them.
