Beats & Taal is a Melbourne dance school named for sur, laya and taal, the foundation of Indian music and dance. Its work is a sangam of Indian culture and heritage, bringing together music, dance, devotion and the energy of the divine feminine. The group's kathak fusion piece moves through five rasas, expressing emotions including karuna, raudra, shringar and prem through sur, laya and taal.
