Melbourne Diwali is free to attend. Melbourne Diwali is 100% privately funded and receives no government funding.
That is possible because businesses choose to support the celebration. Partner contributions help fund the stages, screens, fencing, safety personnel, operations teams and infrastructure a large-scale festival needs.
Up to 20,000 people attended across the day in 2025. None of them paid to enter.

Melbourne Diwali 2026 will take place on Saturday 31 October, from 2pm to 10pm, at Marvel Stadium Square, 740 Bourke Street, Docklands.
